All of these photos of the snowy owl are of the same bird, taken Thursday December 26, 2013 at the Forsythe Refuge ("Brig") in New Jersey. We spent a couple hours photographing the bird from about 100yds away in the morning, then found it in the afternoon much closer and in much better light. Note that some of these images are HDR brackets, as I experimented with preserving the subtleties of feather detail. Nearly all were shot with the Canon 1D Mark IV, 500mm + 2x teleconverter (1300mm equivalent).
